Evaluation of your progress on the LPT mentor program is a self paced evaluation conducted in two stages. Stage one is a professional portfolio which you develop as you study and stage two is a practicum evaluation conducted while you act as an LP Mentor in Training (MIT) on the Lightning Path support forums.
Self Paced
LPT evaluation is self paced. At all phases you decide when you are ready. Read a module, study a section, and move forward only when you feel you have properly understood and assimilated the materials. If you have questions about the materials, mentor forums have been created at http://forums.thelightningpath.com where you can ask questions and seek out guidance. Also, as a mentor in training, feel you to email Michael or any of the other mentors directly with your questions.
Portfolio
The portfolio will consist of a series of dated essays, art, and sundry that you have developed and collected as part of your LP Mentor training. Portfolio entries will track your progress and development as a Lightning Path mentor. There are certain things you must include in your portfolio (see mandatory inclusions below) but feel free to include anything you like that you feel has contributed to your development as an Lightning Path mentor including art, poetry, photography, letters written to you from people you have assisted, and so on.
You submit your portfolio in two phases. Phase one is a draft submission phase where you will post the answers to unit questions in the forums specified at http://forums.thelightningpath.com. The point of this phase is for you to seek out guidance and feedback on your answers, not to grade, rank or create a hierarchy of worth. Your answers will be examined and suggestions for further consideration will be offered. In this way any gaps or lacuna, strengths or deep insights, that you may have will be identified and filled in (in the case of gaps) or encouraged to develop (in the case of strengths and deep insights).
Phase two of portfolio submission comes after you have submitted drafts, solicited feedback, and revised and developed all units of study. Submit your completed portfolio either by email or regular mail to one of the mentors you have worked with during the course of your training.
Mandatory Inclusions
The following short answer and essay submissions are mandatory portfolio inclusions.
- Unit study questions clearly identified and included at the end of each LPT Mentor Module.
- Essay questions clearly identified and included as part of your In Depth study
For a complete list of mandatory inclusions, visit this page.
Practicum
In addition to submitting an LP Mentor portfolio you must also engage in a supervised practicum on the Lightning Path support forums. You will be supervised by Michael Sharp and graduated LPT Mentors . You may begin your practicum once you have completed two LPT Modules and Two In Depth study questions.
